Chevrolet has sold the very first Corvette Z06 C7.R for $500,000 at auction.

The Corvette, which wears VIN 001, is a C7.R edition that is one of just 650 in total that will be produced. All of the proceeds for the car were donated to The College for Creative Studies, an institute that teaches transportation design along with other arts-based programs.

The C7.R edition is finished in the same livery as Chevy’s Corvette race cars and the Z06 has the power to backup the looks. Under the hood is a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that makes 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.

A Camaro Z/28 and a COPO Camaro were also sold by General Motors with the proceeds heading to charity. In total, $750,000 was raised for three different charities, while a whopping $26.9 million worth of cars changed hands. While the Z06 was the most expensive car sold at the Las Vegas auction, the second most expensive vehicle was a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L88 that went for $330,000.

“Ending with a successful event in Las Vegas made 2015 one of the strongest auction years in terms of overall sales and attendance for Barrett-Jackson,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson.
